The 2008 Porche 911 GT3 RS on display is a masterpiece of design, fitted with the optional sports package - full black leather interior with orange stitching, BI-Xenon headlights, and orange trim pieces.

Continuing the long line of race history, the 2008 GT3 RS holds the moniker with pride, as it is the first RS since 2004. Being lighter and more powerful than its sister model the GT3, the GT3 RS is race focused, given its name of RS. The RS features several weight-reducing upgrades, including an aluminum door and trunk lid, a fixed carbon fiber rear wing, and 19" aluminum wheels. With a curb weight of 3,031 lbs, the GT3-RS is 44 lbs lighter than the GT3 and 144 lbs lighter than the GT2.

Weight reduction wasn’t the only focus for the GT3 RS, as this model is the introduction of the PASM. An electronically adjusting system for the damping force of the MacPherson strut and multi-link rear suspension systems while driving to improve grip, while maintaining a smooth feel. Described by some as having a co-driver reading the road conditions and changing the damping of the suspension in mere milliseconds, the system was revolutionary for the time.

Like its predecessors, the GT3 RS boasts a rear-engine rear wheel drive format. This allows for more power to the rear tires, and with its 305mm wide tires the engine can output 300 Lb-ft of torque helping with its acceleration and launch. Along with its immense power the Gt3 RS has specially made carbon ceramic brakes used for its lighter weight and its longevity through hard braking.

Like most 911s, the 2008 GT 3 RS’s design is iconic – however, this isn’t just for looks, a wider rear end and a sleek profile helps with drag and the creation of downforce. Another part of the 911’s iconic design is the luggage trunk in the front due to its rear engine bay. In front of the luggage trunk is the GT3 RS’s central radiator (introduced in 1996 “996” model line), one of three radiators, with the other two located in the fender walls behind the “smile” front grill.
