The Lamborghini Aventador was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show as the replacement for the 10-year-old Murciélago model. This specific model is finished off in Arancio Atlas pearl with Nero Ade black leather with alcantara inserts, with the Lamborghini insignia stitched into the headrests.
The name, Aventador, draws inspiration from a famous Spanish fighting bull that claimed the Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera in 1993. Lamborghini was inspired by the design of fighter jets when sculpting the Aventador. At close to 16 feet in length and six, half feet wide and only 44.7 inches tall, the Aventador has an unmistakable road presence. As the signature scissor doors are opened, the driver is greeted with a large LCD tachometer in the center of dashboard with a redline of 8,250rpm. A red switch at the bottom of the center console is lifted up to reveal the push button start that fires up 6.5L naturally aspirated V12. The engine produces close to 700hp and puts the power to the ground through an AWD system and a 7-speed single clutch gearbox that can shift gears in 50 milliseconds. This means the Aventador can propel itself from 0-60 in under three seconds.
The angular design allows the car to cut through the air, while maintaining a unique design. The radiators at the front and the side of car channel air to cool down the massive V12. The vents above the engine compartment and on the rear end of the car filter the hot air out. Aerodynamics play a crucial part in keeping the car planted with a top speed of 217mph.
