2024 Porsche 911 S/T

  • A homage to the first year of the 911 in 1963

  • Designed with a focus on road drivability

  • New clutch and flywheel designed specifically for the S/T

  • Lightest 911 in Porsche’s current lineup

Porsche released the 911 S/T for the 60th anniversary of the 911 model, producing only 1,963 cars, paying homage to the year that the first 911 was released. The S/T on display is painted in the color “Aubergine” through Posche’s “Paint-to-Sample” program making it a beautifully rare car.

Nods to the past don’t stop with just the name, the 911 S/T is fitted with the iconic door loops that were introduced back in 1973 on the 911 Camera RS, the front windshield Is made of a thin glass similar to the 1967 911 R, while the cars construction of CFRP (Carbon fiber reinforced plastic) can be attributed to the 1998 911 GT1.

Developed in Flacht, Germany the birthplace of Porsche racing, the 911 S/T comes from a long history of track power and racing success but for the anniversary of such an iconic model Porsche wanted to focus on off-track appeal. The S/T features the 911 GT3 RS engine but in the body style of the Gt3 Touring design. The S/T was made to be the “full 911 driving experience on the normal road” fit with an automatically extending rear spoil to help with downforce while going at high speeds.

Porsche designed the 911 S/T to be the perfect lightweight driving machine for the off-track user. Its focus was on a pure driving experience, with lessened insulation material removed as well as the rear seats and some of the driver assistance systems. All help with its pure driving feel. With the weight reduction, the S/T comes in at only 3,042 lbs and is the lightest 911 of the generation.

Equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension, the 911 S/T is made for comfortable breaking and comfort even while on uneven roads or taking sharp corners. The 911 S/T pairs its front suspension with a multi-link rear axle without rear wheel steering, a first for the model.

Along with its easy to ride suspension, the 911 S/T is fitted with a special clutch and flywheel for its six-speed GT sport manual transmission. This was made specifically for the S/T, aiding in weight reduction while allowing for the flat-six engine to rev more freely and easily. This can be heard through Porsche lightweight stainless steel exhaust system giving it its iconic and rich sound.

The engine (lifted from the GT3RS) is a masterpiece of construction. The 4.0-liter flat-six has been minimally modified for road use. The naturally aspirated engine has six individual throttle valves, a 9,000 rpm red line, and a dry-sump lubrication system is still a powerhouse of engineering producing 518 hp.
