ANDIAL is a name synonymous with Porsche racing success. The company was formed in Santa Ana, CA in 1974 by three German-born men: Alwin Springer, Dieter lnzenhofer and Arnold Wagner, with two letters from each of their first names comprising the name ANDIAL. As Inzenhofer, the last active owner of the company, was set to retire in 2013, Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) announced they would be purchasing ANDIAL to carry on the legacy of the brand. To celebrate, PMNA commissioned a special build and upgrade of five GT3 Cup Cars to receive numerous special upgrades, dubbed the ANDIAL Edition. These cars each have a unique livery, paying homage to the notable 1980s racers that were built by ANDIAL.

ANDIAL has seen major success in multiple different arenas of racing. After establishing their foundation in 1975, their first momentous push came in the late 1970’s building, servicing and tuning the potent 934 and 935 endurance car engines. Shortly after the introduction of the 962, ANDIAL became the go-to engine builder for these cars, and more than a dozen 962 teams turned to ANDIAL for backing. Between 1984 and 1989, ANDIAL achieved more than 50 wins in the 962, establishing dominance and setting the tone for years to come.

This GT3 Cup has nearly identical bodywork to the other cup car seen on display, though this car underwent a series of improvements which elevated this from standard cup cars. Almost every aspect of the vehicle has been upgraded to make this the most powerful and competent Cup car built up until 2013. The 3.8 liter flat-six has been bored out to 4.0 Liters and utilizes upgraded internals from the GT3 R, an ANDIAL intake manifold, and upgraded plumbing connections, raising horsepower from 450 to 515. Upgraded Motion Control dampers were installed, along with Bosch ABS M4 brakes. One of the biggest improvements in the car was the six-speed Porsche 997/63 dogbox sequential transmission with pneumatic paddle shifters. This represents a massive step forward from previous cup cars, modernizing the driving experience to be much less physically demanding on the driver.
