August 26th: Let The Good Times Roll Gala

Preserving Newport's History One Car At A Time

August 26th

The Audrain Automobile Museum is pleased to host its inaugural summer Gala, Let the Good Times Roll - Preserving Newport's History One Car at a Time, at the Rosecliff Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. The Gala will showcase the Vanderbilt's family1941 Cadillac Fleetwood Limousine, which we recently resurrected from The Breaker's stable, its undisturbed home for more than 60 years. Driven only two miles since its last oil change in 1952, this automobile not only transports us from place to place, but also through time.

Let the Good Times Roll is an opportunity for you to join the growing Audrain Automobile Museum family, as well as to converse with and enjoy the company of other automobile enthusiasts. The Gala is intended to garner support for the Museum's curatorial mission: to acquire and preserve automobiles connected to Newport's rich and diverse history. Automobiles are woven into the fabric of life, and the Audrain Automobile Museum is here to ensure Newport's continued role in automotive history.

The Museum believes that automobiles make memories, tell stories, and profoundly in uence American culture. With your support, our mission will continue to captivate and educate a wide audience of not only car enthusiasts, but children, families, and Newport visitors alike. We look forward to a continuing relationship for the benefit of Newport's diverse history and storied automotive tradition. We thank you and hope to see you soon!

The evening will begin at 6:00pm with cocktails and the unveiling of the Vanderbilt family's 1941 Cadillac Fleetwood Limousine, as well as the display of Doris Duke's 1949 Cadillac; a 1910 Fiat Tipo 6 and several other vehicles. A special presentation and Dutch auction will begin shortly after dinner is served, followed by dessert and dancing to the sounds of the critically acclaimed Marriane Bennett Orchestra from NYC.
