Audrain at The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance

Amelia Island has been home to one of the world’s most exclusive Concours events for over three decades. The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance serves as a platform for car enthusiasts and collectors to showcase a wide variety of automobiles. Founder and Chairman Bill Warner sees the Concours as just that, a showcase, “cars can be objects of desire, beauty, utility, convenience and entertainment all at once and the people who love them know it.”

The Museum will be proudly showing its 1930 Duesenberg Model J Town Cabriolet. While the competition will be tough, this rare automobile once belonged to known philanthropist and socialite Doris Duke, undergoing delicate restoration and repair. The 2017 Concours takes place between March 10 and 12, and is gearing up to be one of the best yet.

In addition to a Concours event, Amelia Island holds various car auctions that attract some of the worlds most aggressive and esteemed car collectors. Since 1999, RM Sotheby has held the role of the Concours’ official auction house. Held at the Ritz-Carlton, the 2016 auction attracted a standing-room only crowd with bidders from twenty countries, generating $38 million in sales.
