1987 Carrera “Emory Outlaw 911”

  •    Outlaw built by Emory Motorsports in Southern California

  •    Air-cooled Ed Pink Racing built 4-liter 425 hp engine

Rod Emory and his team have become well known for their superb Porsche 356 Outlaws. This car is a rare  Emory build that started with a clean low mileage 1987 911 Carrera in Venetian Blue. Disassembled, the car was dry ice blasted underneath. All of the suspension was rebuilt and updated to Tractive semi active coil-over shocks, 911 Turbo brakes with vented rotors, and 9x15 and 11x15 Fuchs wheels with Michelin TB15 tires.

The original fender arches were replaced with 911 RSR steel flares that were hammer welded seamlessly to the body. 1973 RSR style front and rear bumpers and a long hood were fitted to the car. It was then painted Body color - Venetian Blue L35U with Stripe color - Azure Blue LY5D. A hand painted silver pinstripe defines and separates the two colors.

The interior was re-done with gray German square weave carpet, black RS style door panels, and Recaro classic seats. A Porsche Classic radio, and Classic Retrofit electric air conditioning.

The original engine was removed and was upgraded to a 964-style billet aluminum 3.6 L case. Ed Pink Racing Bored out the 3.6 into a monster 4 L engine that produces nearly 425 hp. This car has been paired to a 5-speed G50 gearbox that was rebuilt and reinforced with billet side plates, short gears, and a limited slip differential.

Emory’s mission with this car was to make it as original looking as possible, without being original. This car has the look of a stock 911, however it does not drive like one. The Emory Motorsports team paid attention to every little detail on this car. These details have earned it the nickname “the Gentleman’s RSR”.
